Pointe Preparation

Ideal for dancers preparing to go on pointe for the first time, for dancers recently on pointe, or for experienced dancers who wish to progress stronger pointework, this course has you covered. We go through a series of pointe-readiness tests and strengthen each aspect of safe and strong pointework. More than just feet, we strengthen whole body alignment, balance, and coordination to prepare dancers’ bodies for the challenges of dancing en pointe. Some schools offer pointe training for boys as well as girls, and this course will cater to everyone.
Composite Courses include a course of pre-recorded targeted exercise classes, coupled with one to one check ins with Luke.

Pre-Recorded Classes
This is one for the parents as well as the dancers. Dancers can follow along at their own pace (Every day? Great! You only have time for every other day? No problem!), at home, and without the need for parents to accompany them either driving or via train to sit around for an hour only to then take them back home..
Your pace, your place, and your convenient times.
Even better, the exercises have been devised based on scientific research and shaped by my years of experience preparing young dancers to successfully audition into top schools like the Royal Ballet School, Elmhurst, Tring, LVBS etc, and by my experience of rehabilitating injured dancers back to top form. The basic structure is a weekly 30-45 minute instructional class which goes through each exercise in depth, supported by a daily 10-12 minute follow-along practice class. That’s a total of nine hours of instruction across the course. Dancers can go through at a slower pace if needed, to accommodate busy schedules.

One-to-one Check-Ins
Many online courses just leave you to it. But how do you know if you've done the exercises correctly, or even safely? Our pre-records have been developed over years of seeing what cues are most effective over zoom, which applies to our recordings too, but we don't just hope for the best. Coupled with some periodic check in points totalling an hour of direct contact time, either online or via video review to suit your needs, we make sure the exercises are being performed safely and effectively. You don't want to hope for the best, you want to make sure!
