Classes

Junior Classes are aimed at dancers aged 8-10 years, with a good background and understanding of ballet. Senior Classes are aimed at vocational ballet students aged 11-18. All classes are designed in an age-appropriate way to help dancers who are seeking to improve their facility (ie the natural areas of strength and flexibility in the body).

All new dancers are required to have a New Class Assessment prior to the first class – this is a 15 minute 1 – to – 1 with Luke where he assesses your suitability for classes. Please add the relevant New Class Assessment (Junior or Senior) to your basket in order to then purchase classes. Once you have purchased your New Class Assessment, we will be in touch to arrange it with you. Alternatively, you can email admin@balletphysio.com to schedule it

Comfortable ballet attire will be best – the more I can see the more I can correct and help you! Leotard, perhaps with shorts or baggies if desired.
Mostly just yourself, ballet attire, a mat, and zoom and wifi access. Commonly used equipment includes theraband, yoga/pilates blocks, light hand weights, a cushion.

Yes! As all classes are recorded for class participants, you can catch up on the replay and join us live afterwards. All dancers registered in the class will have private access to the secure recording of the class via the Ballet Physio portal. This can be found in the members area of the website as will be available to view for two weeks after the class.

Due to the fact we record each online class for the signed-up participants of the class, if you sign up but can’t make the time you will still have private access to the secure recording of the class. You will hear and see the corrections I give to the dancers in the live room, which will help you to apply these cues to your own performance. (You can also email me a short clip of you doing an exercise you’re really not sure of and I can offer some advice!)

Please log into your member area via the website. When you select the relevant class, you will see the class recording available to view. This will be on your account for two weeks.

Assessments

Each year you will be re-assessed in order to ensure the classes you attend are beneficial and that you are progressing. This is important as bodies change as they grow and develop, and new issues can arise which are otherwise hidden. During your Express Assessment (Junior or Senior), Luke will discuss areas of improvement as well as highlight which classes might be helpful moving forward.

Assessment Reports

You can also choose to add a basic report (£15) to your assessment. Luke will always discuss with you his findings, but if you would like a written report to show to your teacher this could be useful to help them understand which physical areas you may be working on during your classes with the Ballet Physio.
